Next Hygge Gathering: Saturday, May 24th — Hyggehiking Forest Hills to Bushwick
Our 5th Hygge gathering of 2025 will be Saturday, May 24th, from 10am-10pm.
We'll be trekking through the gardens and groves of Forest Hills, winding through Forest Park, then ultimately making our way to Bushwick for games, music, and my favorite late night hole-in-the-wall eatery.

About
If you haven't been to a Hygge event before, think of it as a casual gathering to make new friends, discuss fun projects you're eager to work on, dive into deep, thoughtful discussions, and meet people who can help make NYC feel like a smaller, closer-knit community. Bring your friends, family, coworkers, anyone you think would enjoy both meeting new people and coming across friendly and familiar faces.
"Hyggehiking" is my own special blend of Hygge gathering — a conversational stroll through the green spaces of our city.
Logistics
This is a 10+ hour hike spanning 10+ miles, and you are free to join us at *any* point in the day 🙌. All RSVP'd "yes" and "maybe" attendees will receive a link at 10am to my realtime location for the entire day, along with my phone number, so you can see exactly where we are on Google Maps.
📲 Please text me roughly what time you plan to join so I can let you know the ideal spot to meet us.
What to bring

• friends 🥰
Itinerary
This is my Google Maps list of the specific parks & places we'll aim to traverse. We may not make it to every location on the list, but I encourage you to dig deeper into any of them whenever you please. All times are rough estimates.
10am-10:30am — Forest Cafe
✨ Plant-filled coffee shop with homemade croffles.
10:30am-2:30pm — Forest Hills Stadium, Forest Hills Gardens, Austin Street, Station Square
✨ The Forest Hills neighborhood design was inspired by Tudor gardens. Paul Simon attended Forest Hills High School and played at the Forest Hills Stadium, as did the Beatles and Elton John. Austin Street is the main food corridor — we’ll snag lunch there after touring the gardens, and eat in Station Square (where scenes from Spiderman 2 were filmed).
2:30pm-6:30pm — Forest Park, Strack Memorial Park, Highland Park
✨ Forest Park is a hilly 500+ acre public park with winding trails and watering holes. Strack Memorial Park and Highland Park each have their own ponds and reservoirs that attract migratory birds!
6:30pm-10pm — Cuts & Slices, Wonderville, El Regalo de Juquila
✨ We’ll stop by Cuts & Slices to sample their creative pizza toppings, then make our way to Wonderville, a bar full of custom-built arcade games, live music, and a back patio, where we’ll hang out for extended conversation. Just a few blocks away, El Regalo de Juquila has tacos and unbeatable birria quesadillas.
Below, I've shared the path we'll most likely take. You can follow my live location, or call me at any point if you have trouble finding us.
